A rugby league fan has been handed a whopping 20-year ban from the sport after racially abusing a former Super League star in Australia.

After a rivalry match last month between Woy Woy Roosters and Wyong Roos, a brawl broke out between fans and players in embarrassing scenes.

According to former NRL champion Andrew Fifita (player-coach Woy Woy), the melee was caused after he was constantly racially vilified during the game.

Fifita is twin to former Wakefield Trinity man David Fifita.

He then revealed that the same man was responsible for sending abusive messages on multiple social media platforms – some of which included racial slurs.

After hearing the abuse, Woy Woy players and fans confronted the man.

Following this, the Central Coast Rugby League shared a press release saying Woy Woy fans would be banned from their next match – failing to note that the violence was due to the racism of a Wyong fan.

Fifita furious at Central Coast Rugby League response

Not the first time he has been the victim of such a case, Fifita was furious, saying: “It was appalling to see that their statement had nothing to do with racism.

β€œThere are a lot of indigenous people around Woy Woy. If he’s going to shout racial slurs, he’s got it. He was asked to leave. The crowd heard what I said. That’s why they waited for him.

“If there is no racism, there is no struggle. For me and my club, they make us look like idiots for going out and having a fight. Someone should explain what actually happened.”

The press release was bullshit. It had nothing to do with racism. That’s the worst thing for me. It’s terrible. We’ll put them in their place, I can’t help it.

β€œI will not back down and allow my players to be racially abused. I want to talk. You can’t yell racial slurs at people. The only team that is suffering right now is my team. What he (the kid) said was abusive and unnecessary.”

The CCRL chairman said: “Ultimately, the decision to remove spectators at this stage was essentially to calm the situation for this weekend and allow the process to take place in terms of the ongoing police investigation and investigations that the NSWRL makes them. “

The rugby league fan was banned for 20 years

Now the fan has been banned for 20 years by the NSWRL in a sensational response.

A NSWRL statement said: β€œNSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said the racial slur received by True Blue and Woy Woy coach Andrew Fifita was disgusting.

β€œThe NSWRL takes matters like this very seriously, which is reflected in the fact that the person responsible received a 20-year ban.

“Justin Bayley has been banned from all aspects of rugby league for 20 years after being found guilty of breaches of the code of conduct, including racially abusing Fifita, following a Central Rugby League first grade match between Woy Woy Roosters and Wyong Roos at Woy Woy Oval on Sunday June 9.”

Justin Bayley’s son plays Wyong.
