Archie Gray confirmed his exit from Leeds United this week, but in the process shared his hope that the support he received is that of his younger brother Harry when he finally succeeds.

The Whites are busy as they look to rebuild their squad for promotion back to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

A first major exit has been confirmed in the form of Archie Gray leaving the club to join Tottenham in a big money deal.

Archie Gray sends message to Leeds United fans after £40m Tottenham exit

£40m was the amount Leeds appear to have parted with to see Gray move to north London, while Joe Rodon came the other way for £10m.

Gray’s exit was an emotional one and he shared this message with fans on Instagram as the move was confirmed on Tuesday:

“I can’t thank everyone at Leeds United enough over the last 11 years, from all the coaches I’ve had since I first came at age 7 to the entire coaching staff now.

“I have enjoyed every second of my time at the club and have so many great memories to last a lifetime, from watching in the stands to playing on the pitch. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the managers I’ve had, but especially Daniel Farke, for believing in me this year and giving me the opportunity to play and teach me so much about game, which I am so grateful for. and all the coaching staff.

“I’ve made lifelong friends along the way, and I’m also thankful for every teammate I’ve been with from the age of 7 to last season’s teammates. And to the fans you guys are amazing and I can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve given me and hopefully Harry over the next few years.

“We will cross paths again.”

As is the case with any major transfer at Elland Road, social media is abuzz with fan rumors and speculation.

Many of them end up being baseless, while some ring true, but one of the details fans were concerned about was the fallout from Gray’s family with how this transfer went down.

Such tension could have dire consequences for Leeds also keeping hold of Archie’s younger brother Harry, who is tipped for big things in the future, not least by the £40million man sterling himself.

However, if Archie’s words are anything to go by, Leeds should be looking forward to the next Gray from the academy set-up breaking into the first team in the near future.

There is hope from Archie that the same first team appearance will happen for Harry and it is something every fan wants to see happen.
