A number of Edinburgh to Dunblane services calling at Linlithgow have been canceled with some Dunblane to Edinburgh services terminating at Stirling instead. ScotRail said the disruption was expected to last until 3pm.

Their website says: “Due to a passenger becoming ill on a train at Linlithgow, some lines are blocked. The outage is expected to last until around 3pm today.

“Services will not be able to pass through the area. Delays, changes and cancellations are expected. We will work closely with the emergency services to get you moving as soon as possible.”

There are also service cancellations between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High due to the incident. Ticket acceptance on buses is in effect.

This comes as a number of ScotRail services from Edinburgh were canceled on Saturday due to a “train crew shortage”.

ScotRail posted on X: “There are delays on all services to Linlithgow due to emergency services responding to an incident.

“Traveling to/from Glasgow? You can use our routes between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queenn St via Bathgate and Glasgow Ctl and Edinburgh routes. You can also use the train ticket on the 900 bus. For those traveling between Falkirk and Edinburgh, our tickets will be accepted on the X38 bus…”
