Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold explore Liverpool’s transfer position

Liverpool have a number of decisions to make regarding the futures of some of their key stars following the arrival of Arne Slot and it appears that club bosses have already made their calls.

Slot admits he has “big shoes to fill” as Klopp’s successor at Liverpool

Liverpool have made decisions on the sale of THREE key stars, including Mo Salah, this summer.

Salah – as well as team-mates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold – face an uncertain future at Anfield. The trio are out of contract next summer, meaning the current window represents their last opportunity to command a significant fee for his services.

But Liverpool are not keen to take advantage of any of the three. Football in the mirror understands that none of Salah, Van Dijk or Alexander-Arnold will be sold in the immediate future.

The club’s new sporting director, Richard Hughes, recently spoke about the trio’s plight. He confirmed that ongoing talks about any new contracts are private, but insisted that all players will remain committed to Liverpool.

Speaking at the introductory press conference, he said: “In contractual situations, I don’t think it would be right to talk about them. These are private matters between the club and the players.

“The only concern Arne and I have about the situation is the total commitment of the players to the cause next season and we are absolutely convinced that will be the case.”

Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold have each dropped telling hints about their immediate futures. The Egyptian forward has underlined his desire to lift trophies in his debut season under Arne Slot next term.
