The M40 was closed for hours after a “serious” crash between a lorry and a car

A “serious” crash between a lorry and a car closed a section of the M40 for hours. The collision happened on the northbound stretch between junction 12 and junction 14 in the early hours of this morning (July 7).

Police closed the stretch of highway just before 2:40 a.m. while firefighters and medics treated two patients. One of them is said to have been seriously injured.




It is unclear if both were taken to hospital. CoventryLive has contacted West Midlands Ambulance Service and also Warwickshire Police about the incident.

It is understood that the central reservation barrier was damaged in the collision and both vehicles had to be recovered from the scene. All lanes were reopened just before 4:45.
