Ibrahima Konate sends a message that the French election has an unexpected result

Liverpool FC defender Ibrahima Konate has delivered a message following the French election.

The Frenchman joined his international teammates Kylian Mbappe and Marcus Thuram last month to warn against voting for the far-right National Rally in France’s National Assembly elections. The National Rally, led by Marine Le Pen, won the first round of snap elections last month, but the party has drawn controversy over its anti-immigration policies.

Sharing his thoughts on the situation last month, the 25-year-old said: “Of course what is happening in France worries me. “We cannot leave power in the hands of people who want to divide people.

“Diversity is France’s strength. I come from an immigrant family. Prejudices and stereotypes must stop, we must all stand together in all circumstances.

“I am saddened by the ban on wearing the veil in public. You never hear from people affected by these issues… You have to look beyond appearances, beyond skin color, you have to get to know the other person. you can’t make a puzzle with the same pieces, you need diversity and different pieces to build something solid.

“There is always a minority that will harm the majority. My parents have (had) jobs as cleaners and men, with impossible working hours, and when I see that we don’t highlight this kind of people who gave their health for France, it makes me sad I encourage everyone to go vote , I know it’s a personal choice, I don’t tell people what to vote for, but we have to be together in all circumstances Life is short and we have to enjoy it and be together and not divide.”
