Before setting off on your luxurious yet affordable city break, Bristol Airport has warned customers to check baggage restrictions as rules for each airline differ. If you have an oversized bag, your bag may be rejected at the gate or you may pay an additional fee to bring it on board.

To avoid this, Bristol Airport pointed out: “Airlines flying from Bristol Airport have their own weight allowances for checked and hand luggage. It is up to you to ensure that the amount of baggage you take through security complies with airline rules. This means you avoid being denied entry at the boarding gate.”

TUI allows all its customers to bring a 55x40x20cm bag on board for free, such as this Brixham cabin bag from luxury luggage brand Antler, which is reduced from £170 to £102 in the sale. The case also complies with Jet2’s hand luggage policy.

Ryanair only allows its passengers to bring a 40x20x25cm bag on board, such as this £9.99 Amazon bag which comes in 21 colours, or they can upgrade to a roomier 55x40x20cm bag such as be the Brixham bag from Antler. EasyJet’s standard carry-on size is 45x36x20cm, such as Amazon’s best-selling suitcase £29.95, or travelers can pay extra for a 56x45x25cm bag.
