King’s Lynn too strong for Birmingham in Premiership clash

King’s Lynn maintained their impressive recent form with an emphatic 57-33 win over Birmingham at the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday night.

PSH Environmental Stars dominated proceedings from the start to make it three wins from three against the Brummies and the result was never in doubt.

Recent signing Jan Kvech has again shown just what he brings to the club and Benjamin Basso has also been in excellent form with both riders unbeaten on track through Heat 15.

There were more solid contributions elsewhere, with Ben Cook proving a terrific guest for the injured Nicolai Klindt, who chipped in with 12 points.

Team principal Rob Lyon praised Basso’s contribution after the win, saying: “It was a great performance. We covered 1st really well and were dominant throughout so I’m really happy with that.

“Benjamin was superb for us tonight and Jan is a shining light in the whole situation we are facing.

“For a rider who is 22 years old, he looks like he’s been going here for years. He got along really well and is very calm and mature on the bike. We just need to find two more like him.

“I knew Ben Cook would be a good price, he loves this place and he’s started again this year as we saw tonight, so I was always confident he would be a good guest for us.”

Kvech then made a great ride to get past Wiktor Lampart to win Heat 7, meaning the Stars led 28-14 before a timeout was called due to the sunset.

The Czech took his third win in Heat 11 in another Lynn 4-2, while Brennan threw a chain for the Brummies, a fate that would befall him again two races later, with Kvech and Basso combining to this time over Worrall to take the Stars past the 50-run mark.
