Police arrest update after ‘knife’ incident at Bedworth Wetherspoons pub

Police have issued an update on arrests made following a “knife” incident at a Bedworth town center pub. Officers rushed to King Street after arguments broke out both inside and outside the Bear and Ragged Staff on Tuesday night, July 2.

Police said one person was armed with a knife and another was left with facial injuries. Three arrests were made.



They were a 17-year-old boy from Bedworth, a 14-year-old boy from Warwick and a 22-year-old man from Bedworth. All three were questioned.

They were later released on bail, a spokesman for Warwickshire Police said. A spokesman said investigations into the incident were ongoing.

Following the incident, Chief Inspector Kris Shore, head of North Warwickshire Safer Neighborhood teams, said it was “worrying” and appealed for anyone with information or footage to come forward.

“This was a worrying incident and officers were quickly on the scene,” he said. “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the disturbance, particularly if they have any footage of it.”

Anyone with information or video footage of the incident has been urged to either visit the police website or call 101 quoting incident 352 of July 3. Details can also be passed through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
