Price Burnley Must Pay For Liverpool Star Clear After Reds Reject Bid

Phillips spent time on loan at Celtic in Scotland last season, but struggled to make an impact in Glasgow under former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

The 27-year-old headed to Cardiff City on loan for the second half of the campaign and Liverpool are prepared to sell him this summer.

Turkish side Trabzonspor have been in with an offer of £4m for Phillips, which Liverpool have rejected.

He is in the final year of his contract, but Liverpool believe Phillips is worth around £8m.

The centre-back has interest from Championship side Burnley, but whether they will be willing to fork out £8m for him is unclear.

Phillips played under new Burnley manager Scott Parker during a loan spell at Bournemouth and the Clarets manager rates him.

At present the defender is weighing up what he wants to do this summer, but Liverpool are looking to cash in and will not rush to sell him.
