The Sandwell concerts help celebrate 40 years of the Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival

Sandwell Council is delighted to be supporting the Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival once again.

This 40th festival will see local, national and international musicians showcase their talent across Sandwell’s six towns, including FREE events in our libraries, museums and parks.

The Council values the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion and is therefore proud of Sandwell’s rich and diverse culture and heritage. With artists from all over the UK, as well as musicians from as far afield as Norway, the USA and Singapore, this year’s festival reflects this.

This year the festival coincides with Sandwell’s 50th anniversary and is part of the Sandwell Arts Festival, which will take place from 13 July to 4 August.

Leader of Sandwell Council, Councilor Kerrie Carmichael, said:

“Festivals and events like this really show that Sandwell is a Bostin place that’s home to Bostin people, which is why we’re proud to welcome residents and visitors from further afield.”

The Jazz & Blues Festival runs from 19th – 28th July and full details can be found online, with more information about the Sandwell gigs here.

In addition to these summer events, the council runs an exciting calendar of council events throughout the year, with something for everyone. Go to our Visit Sandwell website to find out more.

Sandwell Council would like to thank the West Midlands Combined Authority for supporting some of the Sandwell 50 events and the Jazz & Blues Festival.
