The patent image of the upcoming Royal Enfield electric bike has been leaked, revealing a bunch of new details. The e-bike will have a retro-modern style and, as revealed earlier, its internal codename is Electrik01.

The new image also includes the beam fork that was previously seen in a teaser. The beam fork on this Royal Enfield electric motorcycle is different from a conventional fork: it uses shocks that are positioned between the beam arms and under the triple clamp using links. While this suspension doesn’t really have any additional benefit over a conventional fork, it certainly adds a lot of visual character to the bike and will get people talking about it. It is the first time in almost a century that the beam fork has been used in a factory Royal Enfield bike. Also adding to the bike’s retro look is a rear that mimics the hard-tail look. This is most likely accomplished by using a monoshock that is tucked well behind the body. However, the rider’s seat is mounted directly on the main frame, and the bike does not have a subframe as such.

The main frame houses the battery and other components and will most likely be used as a design element of the bike. There are also two teardrop-shaped panels that mimic a fuel tank. While they also serve aesthetic purposes, they could house components like a battery management system, among others. They will also allow the rider to grip the bike with their thighs.

The battery itself looks pretty big and has air cooling fins all over it. The battery is mounted on top of the motor, which will send power to the rear wheel using a belt drive. However, the engine specifications are yet to be revealed.

The electric Royal Enfield will get alloy wheels with disc brakes, a circular headlight unit, most likely with LED lighting, handlebar-mounted turn indicators and a circular instrument cluster similar to the one on the Meteor 350.

Royal Enfield has partnered with Stark Motorcycle, a Spanish electric vehicle manufacturer, which could most likely contribute to this. RE is also setting up an additional manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Chennai, which is expected to be operational in 2025. This facility will most likely produce this and other upcoming electric bikes from RE. This coincides with Electrik01’s expected official debut in 2025.
