Two charged with murder after man stabbed to death at Enfield block

A man and a woman have been charged with murder after a 66-year-old man was found stabbed to death at a block of flats in Enfield.

The victim, named by police as George Eric Rogers, was found with stab wounds in the common area of ​​the flats in Lockhart Close at around 7.20pm on Friday.

Emergency personnel fought to save him, but he died at the scene.

Ellie Ackhurst, 30, and Anthony Elliott, 42, were charged with his murder in the early hours of Tuesday, Scotland Yard said.

The suspects, both of no fixed address, were due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The victim has yet to be formally identified but police have confirmed he is Mr Rogers, from Enfield.

Mr Rogers’ next of kin have been informed of his death, police said.
