Detectives investigating the death of a South Manchester man have charged a man with murder.

Fintan McDwyer, 30, was found dead at a house on Platt Lane in Fallowfield last Monday.

Longsight’s Direece Roche will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today.

Meanwhile, detectives continue to appeal for information.

Emergency services attended a property on Platt Lane in Fallowfield at 8.50am on Monday, July 1 and a man, later named as Fintan McDwyer, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said:

“If you have any information or footage that could assist our investigation into this incident, please contact GMP on 0161 856 5415 quoting log 695 of 1/7/24.

“A dedicated portal has been set up and information, CCTV, dashcam, ringer and phone images and footage can be submitted via the public portal for major incidents here: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk).

You can also report information via www.gmp.police.uk or the independent charity Crimestoppers – anonymously – on 0800 555 111.”
