Castleford Tigers 4-60 St Helens

Sam Eseh Jr made his Castleford debut off the bench as the Tigers fell to a heavy defeat at Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Friday night.

Despite Tommy Makinson’s red card for head contact in the 12th minute, the Tigers trailed by two points at half-time. The hosts saw Liam Horne sent off seven minutes after the restart before St Helens scored eight tries in the final half hour to earn the two points.

London Broncos 34-18 Hull FC

Warriors duo Harvey Makin and Tiaki Chan clashed at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Sunday afternoon as London Broncos recorded their first win in the 2024 Betfred Super League.

After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, three tries in six minutes put Hull FC 12-6 ahead before London scored twice before the break to lead 16-12 at the break.

Hull FC went back in front shortly after the break before London took advantage of a sin-bin game to score three tries to eventually win 34-18.

Bradford Bulls 14-40 Wakefield Trinity

Harvey Wilson started in the second row as Bradford Bulls missed out on reaching Wembley when they went down to defeat against Wakefield Trinity in the semi-final of the 1895 AB Sundecks Cup.

The Bulls held an 8-6 lead at half-time after a gutsy performance against an unbeaten Wakefield side, however, seven second-half tries from the visitors led to a 40-14 victory.

Jacob Douglas was named in the Bulls’ 21-man squad but did not make the matchday squad.

Midlands Hurricanes 22-24 Cornwall

Ryan Brown was a substitute as Midlands Hurricanes were narrowly beaten by Cornwall who claimed their first win of the League One season.

Despite Cornwall opening the scoring after six minutes, the Hurricanes responded with three tries to lead 16-6 at the break.

The Midlands held a 22-12 lead heading into the closing stages, however, after a 71st minute sin-bin game reduced the Hurricanes to 12 men for the rest of the contest, Cornwall scored two converted tries in the final three minutes to to steal two points.
