Royal Enfield is working on an electric bike for the Indian market. They are already testing the prototype model. This information was shared by Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director and CEO, Eicher Motors. According to him, the brand has also put in a team to discover the commercial side. Tentatively, the brand plans to launch this product in the next two years. Royal Enfield has lined up a capex of Rs 1,000 crore for FY 2023-24, with the bulk of this investment being in electrical products.

The company has already hired 100 people for its electric vehicle space. It is the process of setting up a new production line for electric vehicles. Initially, this production line will be able to produce 1.5 lakh units in a year.
