Manchester City have major transfer convictions over the first-team duo with a combined 714 appearances

Manchester City officials have major conviction over the futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson beyond the ongoing summer transfer window.

The legendary Etihad Stadium duo have been heavily linked with shock exits from Pep Guardiola’s first team this summer, largely thanks to ambitious pursuits and the attention of decision-makers in Saudi Arabia.

De Bruyne currently has an eye on how best to carry on in football in the twilight years of his career and in some quarters is convinced he has a fond view of the potential for a switch to Major League Soccer at some point given

However, that inclination towards the United States has not deterred those working in the Saudi Pro League, who continue to maintain a firm desire to secure the Belgian and his Manchester City team-mate Ederson at some point in future windows of transfer.

But despite the relentless talk of big-money moves and eye-popping wage packages being offered to the multiple Premier League title-winning duo this summer, a new report has published what could be a significant update on inner city feeling.

While uncertainty will continue to linger over Ederson’s thought process regarding activities in Saudi Arabia this summer, De Bruyne has addressed his own future on several occasions throughout the ongoing European Championships.

Speaking to the Belgian press during the summer, the 32-year-old explained: “I will have a quiet summer. I will enjoy my holiday and return to Manchester City afterwards. I assume there will be discussions in the coming months.”

Having already held the door open to Saudi Arabia due to the big money on offer in the Middle East, De Bruyne simultaneously expressed his own personal belief that he will remain at the Etihad Stadium in the new season.

“Yes (I will stay at City). I’ve read many headlines about a transfer but haven’t spoken to anyone. I saw him (Michael Emanalo, Saudi Pro League Sporting Director) at the Club World Cup. I know Michael – it makes sense to talk. But it wasn’t about that,” De Bruyne revealed.
