‘Drink’ driver caught ‘swinging’ and ‘jumping central barriers’ on M40

A “drunken” driver has been arrested by police and subjected to “swaying” and “jumping central barriers” on the M40. Warwickshire’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) said members of the public reported the scenes on the Warwickshire stretch of motorway.

In fact, an HGV driver followed behind the driver to try and keep people safe until officers arrived. They said: “This vehicle was reported to be driving on the M40 at night at a very low speed, swaying on the road, jumping central barriers.

“The police attended moments after they had just been involved in a minor RTC.”

They say the driver was over the legal limit on the side of the road and will now appear and possibly be banned. The car was also impounded.
