Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle; Images, Features, Specifications

Royal Enfield, the leader in the 350-700 cc segment, is yet to go electric. But now, the patent image for the design of the company’s first electric motorcycle is out. And there are no guessing points, but it’s a modern classic with a unique retro bobber style design. The patented image provides quite a few details about the EV. For starters, the frame goes up and over the “fuel tank”, which is likely to have storage space. Second, the battery and motor appear to be integrated, the whole package being a stressed member. The rear wheel is driven by a belt drive.

Third, while the image shows a single seat, the addition of a saree guard means there will be an optional seat on the bike. The most interesting detail is that the image shows the use of a beam fork, which was used on motorcycles over 100 years ago. Of course, there will be a modern twist. The rear section is likely to receive an aluminum swingarm and nicely hidden is also a monoshock.

The bike’s tires appear to be thin in an attempt to maximize ride efficiency and agility. But again, this is all just a guess at this point. The actual product may differ from the patent image. Internally, the bike is called “Electrik01” and we can see that the bike will go into production in a year or a year and a half from now and will be introduced to the market in early 2026.
