A manhunt has been launched after three women were murdered at a property in Hertfordshire.

Police and paramedics raced to the horrific scene at a house in Bushey last night.

They were called to a house near Ashlyn just before 7pm. Three women, all relatives, were found seriously injured at the scene. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, all succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.

At least one of the victims was shot with a crossbow, LBC understands.

Police have launched a manhunt for Kyle Clifford, 26, from the Enfield area, who they believe may still be armed. Police believe he may still be armed with a crossbow.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach him and to contact the police about any sightings.

The victims were described as a “friendly family”.

A neighbor, who did not want to be named, said she did not know the victims well, but that they were a friendly family.

“Every day we would see them walk by and say good morning,” she said.

“It’s very sad what happened, very shocking.”

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “This is an incredibly difficult incident for the family of the victims and we would ask that their privacy be respected as they come to terms with what has happened.

“While we are still in the early stages of this investigation, we are actively searching for Kyle Clifford, who we believe may be in the Hertfordshire or North London areas.

“Given the serious nature of the incident, I would ask anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact the police immediately. If you think you see him, please stay away from him and call 999 immediately. He may still be in possession of a weapon.

“Our inquiries will continue over the coming days to establish the full circumstances of what happened but I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who was in the area around Ashlyn Close from Tuesday lunchtime to 7:00 p.m. and think we may have seen something that could help the investigation, please contact us.

“This incident will, of course, concern local residents. Officers from the Neighborhood Policing Team will be in the area today so please speak to them if you need to.”

A local who gave his name only as Riaz told LBC: “I think it’s very sad. “It seems to be a relationship problem. “It’s a tragic situation.”

Watford MP Matt Turmaine said: “This is a tragic case. The police are urgently doing everything they can to apprehend the person they believe is responsible for this crime.

“I would urge members of the public who have any information that would be of assistance in this case to come forward and assist the police.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at around 7pm on Tuesday 9 July to a property in Ashlyn Close, Bushey.

“Three ambulances, a rapid response car, an ambulance officer’s car, the Hazardous Area Response Team, Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and London Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the team, three women were pronounced dead at the scene.”
