ITV Emmerdale Leicester actor Jurell Carter ‘gives up’ the role of Nate Robinson

Speculation is rife that Jurell Carter has quit ITV’s Emmerdale, but is his departure on the cards? The Leicester-born actor has captivated audiences as the wonderful Nate Robinson since he first arrived in the iconic ITV village in 2019, but it’s rumored to be coming to an end.

Since entering television, Jurell’s character, who is a mysterious farmer, has quickly become embroiled in a sizzling affair with Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J Robb. The bomb was dropped when Nate was revealed to be Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) long-lost son with Cara Robinson, leading to his involvement in a series of high-stakes plots, The Mirror reports.

Since then Nate’s life has been thrown into chaos after his wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) cheated on him with Caleb Miligan (Will Ash). This led to the collapse of the marriage of the two.

Emmerdale viewers saw Nate return to screens on Tuesday (July 9), where he was seen sharing a pint with his co-star Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle). The evening ended with Nate helping a drunken Billy back to Home Farm under the watchful and critical eye of Kim Tate (Claire King), who warned him to keep quiet so as not to upset Billy’s wife, Dawn.

It was an appearance that surprised many viewers. One said: “I wonder when Nate’s coming out?” A second said: “Oh look Nate hasn’t seen him in a while.”

Is Nate Robinson’s time in Emmerdale coming to an end?

Rumors of Jurell’s departure from the Yorkshire drama first surfaced last month when The Sun quoted a source as suggesting the actor had chosen to leave the soap. At the time, an insider said, “Nate has been at the center of some huge storylines and his exit will be no different,” the publication’s insider said at the time, explaining that Nate’s exit story will be one that viewers would not want to miss it.

“It’s going to be dramatic and explosive and go down in Emmerdale history. It’s not going to be one to miss. Jurell loved being on TV but he’s a young actor and it’s understandable that he wants to spread his wings. He’s got a lot of talent – not to mention the looks – becoming a big star and leaving the soap is the only way she can do it Five years is a good run but she feels it’s time.
