Enfield primary school ‘on lockdown’ as police hunt for Bushey ‘murder’ suspect Kyle Clifford

A primary school in Enfield is understood to be in a state of lockdown as police hunt Kyle Clifford, the main suspect in Bushey’s ‘murder’. St Michael’s CE Primary School in Enfield is the scene of a search for the 26-year-old.

Speaking to Sky News, the school’s headteacher told Sky News that police had earlier visited staff and students and that teachers had been told to “carry on as normal as possible”. She added that the police are “doing as much as they can”.



Sky News added that another school, Bright Horizons Enfield Hilly Fields Day Nursery and Preschool, 17 miles away, is believed to be holding children inside. Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson told a press conference today that the attack happened last night in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, Hertfordshire.

He said: “Our overall focus today is to protect public safety and find Kyle Clifford, who is wanted in connection with the murders of the three women in what we believe is a targeted incident. We have extensive police resources deployed to various locations across North London and also the Bushey area.

“The manhunt also involves armed police officers and specialist search teams responding in quick succession following what has been a horrific incident involving what is currently believed to be a crossbow but may have been other weapons were also used”.
