Cornwall pub is offering free beers tonight – but only if England score

With England just one win away from the World Cup final, fans will be hoping for a win against the Netherlands tonight – and hopefully a free pint in the local pub too.

As the much-anticipated semi-final match between England and Holland approaches, Three Lions supporters are bubbling with excitement. And a pub chain, with a site in Cornwall, is offering free pints if any England player gets one in the net tonight.

Greene King, which has pubs across the country, has proclaimed that supporters can win a free drink as a result of an England goal. For Cornwall fans, that means heading to the Quayside Inn in Falmouth.

You’ll need to quote “England scored please pour” to claim their free pint at the end of the game. It’s a simple but fulfilling reward.

England’s recent quarter-final victory over Switzerland, with Trent Alexander-Arnold securing the winning penalty, sends an encouraging message to Gareth Southgate’s side as they aim to move one step closer to making footballing history by defeating the Netherlands.

The promise of a free pint has undoubtedly fueled the excitement of England fans, who are desperately hoping for some goal-scoring action from the team, the Mirror reports. So far, the team has scored five goals in the tournament, including the two attributed to Jude Bellingham.

That record certainly offers hope for a night of free pints, but as with any sport, nothing is ever guaranteed. Greene King teamed up with ex-footballer and pub enthusiast Jimmy Bullard to share his thoughts on tonight’s game. He commented: “Having had a career in football, I have seen first-hand the passion this nation has for the sport and as this tournament has shown, nothing is guaranteed in football.”

“What can be guaranteed is a good time at the pub, because no matter the result, win or lose, you’re surrounded by your friends and colleagues, so you can celebrate or pity each other.”

“The addition of a free pint is enough to put a smile on my face, especially when the games so far have been so painful to watch. There’s only one place I’ll be heading to watch the semi-finals and that’s my seat. the local Greene King pub, because once one of our players has hit the ball into the back of the net, I’ll be enjoying a refreshing pint without any pleasure!

And while punters will be hoping for more than one goal tonight, unfortunately they’ll only be entitled to one free drink regardless of the score.
