Woman seriously injured after car overturns in accident

A woman was seriously injured when a collision near Anstey left her car overturned. Leicestershire Police said the woman suffered a serious arm injury and was taken to hospital following the incident on the Anstey Lane roundabout at the junction with the A46.

The accident took place on Friday (May 10) around 4:20 p.m. Releasing the information today (Monday, May 13), the force said the crash involved a blue Mini One and a silver VW Polo.




A spokesman said the VW One overturned and came to rest on the approach road to the A46 southbound carriageway. The driver was taken to hospital.

No one else was injured, the spokesman said. Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand, they added.

The force said it believed there was a white car driving immediately behind the vehicles involved and the occupants may have witnessed what happened. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Steve Isherwood on 101 or via the force’s website quoting crime number 24*274165.
