A Croydon woman is to face charges after fleeing the crash

Pennsylvania State Police plan to charge a woman they say fled a crash in Bristol Township.

The crash happened on June 23 just before the Bristol exit on I-295 at 1:58 p.m. when a 2017 Honda Civic and a 2004 Saab 9-5 collided.

The crash occurred as the Civic attempted to merge into multiple lanes, according to state police.

Following the collision, both vehicles stopped and the 26-year-old Croydon woman who was driving the Civic offered to pay cash for the damage to the Saab, which was driven by a Wilmington man aged 39, state police said.

The woman refused to provide her insurance information and then got back into the damaged Civic and fled the scene, state police said.

The driver of the Saab was able to capture a photo of the Civic and its license plate, which allowed state police to identify the Croydon woman, according to a news release.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

Authorities said the Croydon woman would be charged for causing the crash.
