Two Brewers has a place in the final of the Great British Pub Awards 2024 – South London News

A much-loved south London pub has secured its place in the 2024 Grand Final British pub Awards (GBPA).

The Two Brewers in High Street, Clapham, who “proudly served LGBTQ+ community’ since 1981, competing for the title of ‘Best Pub for Entertainment’.

The GBPAs feature a four-stage judging process where renowned industry experts judge sites in a number of categories.

The Two Beers’ front room, with its gold glitter and twinkling lights, transforms weekly to host events from cabaret and comedy to theme nights and open mic, while the Club Room transforms from a cabaret club during during the week in a night club on the weekend. .

Events run seven nights a week, 52 weeks a year, featuring everything from Monday Cabaret with Amy LaQueefa to Sunday’s iconic Power of 4. Monthly backstage shows include comedy, burlesque and poetry nights, along with regular drag competitions and screenings of RuPaul’s Drag Race. .

The venue has raised significant funds for charities such as Stonewall Housing, Wandsworth Oasis and LGBTQIA+ Ukrainians.

Jimmy Smith, managing director of Two Brewers, said: “We are delighted to be a finalist in the awards.

“Winning the award would be a huge recognition of the hard work of our team and our dedication to providing the best night out for our community.”

The annual Great British Pub Awards will host a ceremony on September 17 at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse where the best of the best in the pub industry will be unveiled.
