Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin gives his verdict on Brad Arthur’s Leeds Rhinos appointment – Total Rugby League

SKY SPORTS pundit Jon Wilkin has given his verdict on the appointment of Brad Arthur to Leeds Rhinos.

The West Yorkshire club yesterday announced the capture of the former Parramatta Eels head coach on a deal until the end of the 2024 Super League season.

The length of the deal has taken a number of people by surprise, with a new boss likely to be appointed for 2025 and beyond.

On Sky Sports Verdict, Wilkin was asked if it was a good meeting, to which he replied: “Yeah, I think so.

“I think it’s very interesting that he mentions the standards and the raising of standards that have been brought in because Leeds feel they need guidance and leadership towards the end of the year.

“It seems strange to announce a coach until the end of this season and not further. But that maybe shows you where Leeds are at, that they are desperate to get into the play-offs and maybe Brad Arthur is the man to help them do that for the rest of 2024.”

Leeds are currently two points outside the play-off top six with a game in hand against Warrington Wolves tonight.
