Football fans were in heaven at the AO Arena after England booked their place in the Euro finals. Thousands flocked to Britain’s biggest fanzone as the Three Lions took on Holland at the Borussia Dortmund Stadium.

The excitement was palpable, but England’s performances so far meant there were also nerves as fans packed the venue minutes before kick-off. As the starting XI was announced, the heroes of this tournament received the biggest cheers, Man United’s Mainoo being the biggest.

However, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka also received a very warm welcome thanks to his heroics on Saturday. While England fan Mike was nervous before kick-off, he predicted that England would win 2-1 and Kane would get on the scoresheet.

He told him MEN: “I hope Saka scores as well, but that’s my heart speaking louder than my head.” He said. But when asked about his nerves, he admitted: “It happens mate!”

Friends Tyla and Lauren were feeling much more confident than Mike. Tyla told the MEN that she was “cramming” the game and predicted a 3-2 win. While Lauren thought England would wipe the floor with Holland scoring 4 goals

In the end it was a story of two halves. Holland stunned the arena into silence when they took the lead with Xavi Simon’s first goal.
