free access to Croydon Insider – Inside Croydon

The Croydon Insider, our monthly behind-the-headlines news podcast, is available FREE to all readers this month as a special, one-off offer.

Our podcast is premium content that is usually only available to paid subscribers who pay just £5 a month to support Inside Croydon independent and investigative journalism.

But for May 2024, anyone can log in and listen, via our Patreon page (click here) or by visiting Inside Croydon Spotify page.

As with all episodes of Croydon Insider, our guest panel consists of Inside Croydon loyal readers.

  • They discuss the London election, Susan Hall and the “Croydon effect” on local results.
  • They also look at why so many younger voters are completely disengaged from politics, politicians and the political process.
  • Then there’s ULEZ and the secret Facebook groups that suddenly disappeared once the Tories failed to win the London mayoralty.
  • There’s Croydon’s tram rolling stock crisis and how it’s hitting New Addington hardest.
  • There is the puzzling planning application for 220 new homes in Purley town centre, none of the flats in this massive ‘older housing’ complex are affordable as required by planning laws.
  • And then there’s Stormzy’s footballing endeavours, with promotion for his football club in the same week he opened an impressive community center in Selhurst.

Our chatty program is an Under The Flyover podcast, offered as premium content, usually exclusive to paying subscribers to Inside Croydon – whose £5-a-month subscriptions help keep Croydon’s only independent platform for investigative journalism digging into stories the powers-that-be definitely don’t want you to know about.

If you enjoy listening to this episode of Croydon Insider, you might want to volunteer to appear on a future panel?
