A woman tells you how to kill ants in the kitchen using a 3-ingredient homemade solution

Ants can be a real nuisance during the summer months, and if not dealt with promptly, can escalate into a full-blown infestation. However, treating them does not have to involve expensive pesticides, which can also present risks in homes with children or pets.

Sustainable lifestyle guru Michelle Marine, who founded Simplify Live Love, shares her knowledge after testing numerous homemade ant traps. She found a particularly “effective” method that “actually works” to kill ants naturally.

Michelle noted, “There are several homemade solutions for ant traps, but I’ve had no luck with most of them.”

“I like solutions that use simple, frugal and natural ingredients. This DIY ant bait is non-toxic to humans, but deadly to ants!”.

To combat ants without harsh chemicals, many people turn to household items such as white vinegar, lemon juice, cinnamon, peppermint or bay leaves, the Express reports.

These natural remedies act as deterrents due to their strong odors, which can obscure an ant’s scent trail, hindering their communication and foraging skills.

While ants tend to move away from areas with strong odors, these natural solutions may only provide temporary relief because odors dissipate quickly, especially outdoors.

If you want to banish ants from your home for good, a homemade mixture could be the magic solution you need, a mixture of baking soda, yeast and sugar that promises to annihilate these uninvited guests.
