Zirkzee has done the deal: How much Manchester United are paying for Bologna striker

Manchester United are reportedly paying more than the €40m release clause for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, not including the €15m fee Milan refused to cover, taking the total to 57 .5 million euros.

Several sources, including The Athletic, are confident the Dutch striker will fly out tonight and undergo a medical tomorrow morning.

The striker has been a big draw in the transfer market this summer, helped by the fact that he has a release clause set at just €40 million.

Milan agreed personal terms and agreed to the release clause weeks ago but did not progress because they would not pay their agent Kia Joorabchian his €15m fee.

It wasn’t a problem for Manchester United, who according to Fabrizio Romano are paying even more than the €40 million clause to get better payment structure options with Bologna.

It will be 42.5 million euros distributed over three years.

That doesn’t include the €15 million fee, so they’ll end up paying around €57.5 million for Zirkzee.

The player will also sign a five-year contract with an option for a sixth.
