Man rushed to hospital after Croydon stabbed him in the middle of the day on a busy road

A man was rushed to hospital earlier today (Thursday 11 July) after he was stabbed on the street in Croydon.

Police arrived on Church Street, a major road in the area, after being called shortly before noon. There they found the victim, and the paramedics took him to the hospital.



The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police also said two “men” were arrested, although their ages were not confirmed.

Both are in police custody, having been arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and robbery.

The Met Police said: “Police were called at approximately 11.20am on Thursday 11 July to reports of a stabbing on Church Street.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man with a stab wound – he was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and robbery. Both remain in custody. A crime scene remains in place.”
