Three Coventry homes closed after problems with ‘anti-social behavior and drug dealing’

Police have closed three troubled houses in Coventry after neighbors reported problems with “anti-social behavior and drug dealing”. Officers cordoned off properties on Howlette Road, William McKee Close and Oliver Street.

Officers said the address on Howlette Road in Tile Hill was closed after evidence of cuckoos was discovered. Criminals are known to exploit vulnerable people and use their addresses for everything from storing stolen goods to drug trafficking sites.

At the address on William McKee Close in Binley, Coventry LPA found evidence of drug dealing. All three properties were closed after people in the neighborhood reported problems with “anti-social behavior and drug dealing”.

People have been banned from properties in the town for the next three months, West Midlands Police said. Anyone trespassing during this period risks arrest.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are continuing our efforts against anti-social behavior and drug dealing in Coventry. The orders have helped to protect vulnerable people in Coventry as well as making it easier for us to take action against suspected drug dealers and associates.

“Having these allows us to arrest people who are there if they are not named in the order itself, giving us greater powers to crack down on known criminals and ASB hotspots. If you think this type of activity is happening where you live, please let us know.

“You can report suspicious behavior and crime to us via 101 or Live Chat, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
