A new academy for young entrepreneurs has been launched in Croydon – Newsroom

As part of the Chief Executive of Croydon’s commitment to helping young people reach their potential, Croydon Council has teamed up with the UK’s leading business support provider, Enterprise Nation, to deliver a summer bootcamp for young entrepreneurs in neighborhood.

Croydon Young Entrepreneurs Academy will provide a range of business support to start-ups, established businesses and sole traders aged 18-35.

The free boot camp will include everything from how to turn an idea into a profitable business, covering basic business skills, techniques for finding investments and tips for building resilience against future economic shocks.

These will be delivered through a mix of online and in-person events over a seven-week period in July and August, with follow-on sessions in October. Sign up for the next bootcamp.

Enterprise Nation hosted a Google Digital Garage workshop on July 11 for all local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with in-depth training and interactive networking opportunities.

According to the latest Start Up Ambition report, more than half (53%) of young adults aged 18-30 are considering starting a business this year – with 68% starting as a side job while studying or hold down a part-time job.

The council is funding the bootcamp through funding secured from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

For every idea that succeeds, our neighborhood benefits; strengthening our local economy, benefiting the local community and bringing new employment opportunities for our residents.”
