LIVE Liverpool transfer news Nico Williams ‘priority’ and Joao Neves ‘request’ amid Leny Yoro position

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has said he would seriously consider cashing in on Mo Salah if the club receive an offer in excess of £100million this summer.

He also named Germany and Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala as the ideal replacement for the Egyptian.

Speaking to BetVictor, he said:

“It’s a difficult one. If he was 29 it would be a different story, but Salah is 32 now and you have to think how many more years you’re going to get away from him. He’s been an incredible player for a long time. the club, but I agree when the pundits say he lost his edge and half a yard of stride.

“I still think he’s a creative force and has an element of fear for defenders, but if Liverpool were to get over £100m they could reinvest that and rebuild the squad really effectively. It’s a very difficult thing to do and I wouldn’t want to be involved in the decision, but you have to consider his age. Would you pay for a 32 year old? Maybe you would.”

“If you are going to bring someone to the club to replace Salah, it should be someone who is not just a better player, but someone who is commercially viable enough to add to the Liverpool brand, in a similar way to Salah. ,” he said. “We only look at Salah as an individual on the pitch, but it’s the global appeal he brings to Liverpool and how he puts the club on the map of Africa that has to be considered. We have no idea how much money bring this

“With that in mind, one player I don’t always look at is Jamal Musiala. I absolutely love watching it. I don’t know if Bayern Munich would be willing to sell him, but if Liverpool are talking about players who can add value to the team to replace Salah, he is one of those players.”
