A Yorkshire celebration at Oakwell Hall

Oakwell Country Park is set to host a celebration of all things Yorkshire on Sunday 4 August, from 11 am until 4 pm.

The free, family event will feature live musical performances, a Yorkshire Makers Market, creative workshops and activities, and delicious food and drink stalls.

What’s happening at the event?

Live Music

Live music will be playing throughout the day, kicking off at 11 am with the popular duo JimDam, followed by the acoustic country band Western Hope.

After lunch, Lauren G will take the stage with a Taylor Swift tribute act, followed by Suzie and the Groove, performing their take on 90s dance covers. The finale will be an energetic set filled with crowd-pleasers and singalong classics from the fantastic Psychoslinkys, who have been taking Yorkshire by storm.

Yorkshire Market

The Yorkshire Market will have over 50 stalls with locally produced goods, ranging from home-baked sweet treats and hand-crafted jewelery to pet treats and accessories, natural toiletries and more. Showcasing the best of what our local makers have to offer.

Cake Off Competition

Creative bakers are invited to enter a Yorkshire-themed Cake Off competition with categories for adults and an under 16’s category for young budding bakers.

Family entertainment

Free family entertainment will include a mini farm, bushcraft activities, a mechanical rodeo sheep and craft activities from Fair and Funky and The Children’s Art School.

And for a small fee, face painting, face glitter, and henna art will also be available.

Food and Drinks

A variety of food will be available to buy from The Coffee Box, Nomadic Pizza, Istanbul’s Kitchen, Michelle Swift Catering, Rajas Indian Street Food, Yorkshire Pie Bakery and A Taste of Italy Ice Cream,

Refreshing drinks will be on tap from Yorkshire Craft Beer and Cellar Door Bars who will be selling cocktails, prosecco, spirits lagers, ciders, ales, soft drinks and more.

The Yorkshire Dialect Society will also be there to share their expertise in the richness of Yorkshire dialects and traditional ways of speaking and writing the living language of the county.

Planning your visit

Visitors are recommended to plan their journey and car share, walk or use public transport where possible to ease traffic congestion around the venue.

Parking is available for a fee of £5, payable by cash only. Follow signs to Colliery Field via Nutter Lane.

Free disabled parking will be available for blue badge holders at the Visitor Center car park.
