The horrible comments my mom got when TikTok users saw her house

A mother said she was branded “lazy” after a video she posted online exposed her “messy” home.

Laura Green, 30, shared a video on TikTok with the aim of showing other parents that it’s okay not to be perfect. Ahead of the summer break, she said she especially wants to get the message out that “it’s okay to take a break and clean up later.”

Laura, who has two children under five, wanted to share her experience after she came downstairs after putting her son to bed and realized the house was a mess. She decided to take a few minutes to herself rather than tidy up right away, and she wants others to do the same.

However, strangers online did not take kindly to the clip. She was branded a “messy mother” and even told she “shouldn’t be allowed on the planet” if she couldn’t do “women’s work”.

Laura, from Leicester, said she laughed off the comments, though. She said: “It says more about them than it does about me.

“The ‘lazy and terrible young mother’ comments were pretty funny too. People seem to think I’m 19 and had my kids by accident, actually I’m 30 and they were a choice. Negative comments don’t bother me, it’s just people looking for likes.
