You can visit the free sunflower field near Coventry this summer

Have you ever visited a sunflower field in our region? Well, you’re in luck because there’s one near Coventry opening this summer that you can visit for free. All the owners ask is that you consider making a voluntary donation to help young people struggling with the death of a loved one.

Becketts Farm, in Wythall, 35 minutes from Coventry, has a three-acre sunflower field that you can explore at your own pace, taking photos and soaking up the fluorescent yellow fields of sunflowers. The farm also includes a wildflower meadow where you can see all the cute butterflies and bees in the colorful environment it attracts.

Make the best of your day out by visiting the farm shop and restaurant for lunch or a coffee and cake. The sunflower fields are usually weather-dependent, but it is hoped the gates will be open to the public by the end of July and then throughout August, BirminghamLive reports.

The farm is raising funds for Touchstones Child Bereavement Support, which provides support to young people aged 5 to 21 in North East Worcestershire who have lost a loved one. The charity also offers Touchstone Days of Remembrance where young people can come together to share memories of their loved ones and take part in activities to reduce isolation.

Becketts Farm aims to exceed its fundraising target of £2,600 in 2022, which would help fund the various Touchstone Days of Remembrance, which cost around £600 a day for a group of 18 young people with activities from go-karting, artwork and zip-lining, before concluding with candlelight to reflect on the lost loved one.

Becketts Farm chairman Simon Beckett said: “We are a family business and Touchstones Child Bereavement Support is a cause that is close to our hearts and we are delighted to support them. Our fields offer a wonderful space for visitors. to explore and take photos before having a bite to eat in our restaurant.
