A GoFundMe page set up by the family identified the 12-year-old as Pyatt’s daughter, Emma Joy Pyatt.

The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on July 10 near Judge Orr and Stapleton roads in Falcon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Investigators determined that a Chevrolet Silverado, driving westbound on US 24, veered onto the right shoulder and, while attempting to correct its course, drifted into the eastbound lane and collided with a Jeep Wrangler , said state policeman Gabriel Moltrer.

The father and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. A younger brother, 10, was also in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, according to the GoFundMe.

A 46-year-old man, the sole occupant of the Chevrolet, was also seriously injured.

CSP said alcohol and excessive speeds were believed to be factors in the crash.

The Pyatt family GoFundMe is asking for community support to help the widow and surviving 10-year-old child with medical expenses.

“If you are unable to help financially, please pray for our family as we try to navigate this new life,” says the page for the fund, which attracted more than $50,000 in donations in its first day alone.
