Ben Foster raves about Manchester United star ‘phenomenon’ and says he is relentless

England’s bid for the Euro 2024 final came about because of many factors. Late goals, a fortuitous draw, team spirit, great individual quality.

One of the individuals who helped England progress through the tournament was Manchester United’s child prodigy, Kobbie Mainoo.

Kobbie Mainoo did not start any of the group games. During the playoffs, he started every one.

Mainoo set a Euro 2024 semi-final record as the youngest player ever to represent the Three Lions as a starter in the last four of a major tournament.

Ben Foster praises Kobbie Mainoo

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster is among those who have been amazed by Kobbie Mainoo’s performances.

Foster told his podcast: “It’s phenomenal. It’s a joke, honestly. He is a joke.

“A lot has been said about his kind of physiology and how he goes through the game and that’s it. He doesn’t seem to get up much. You’ve seen some of the interviews he’s done after the game, he never seems to get too excited, does he?

“He looked so calm and that’s how he is on the pitch. There is no such thing as fanfare or theater or anything. It’s just an incredible game and it does it relentlessly and it keeps doing it, it keeps doing it.”

Mainoo was England’s best midfielder in the 2-1 semi-final against Holland and is now preparing for a final against Spain.

He will face Rodri, who he beat in the FA Cup final at the end of May when Manchester United beat Manchester City.

Mainoo conquering everyone

Kobbie Mainoo was criticized by the national media after a short performance in a pre-tournament friendly against Iceland. It was completely wrong and the same newspapers are praising them.

The national press praised Kobbie Mainoo’s performance against Holland, citing him as one of the keys to England’s victory.

Even Jamie Carragher made a return. Carragher said it was “unrealistic” to expect Kobbie Mainoo to change England’s midfield. After the semi-final victory, he praised Mainoo as “fantastic”.

Manchester United fans also loved Mainoo’s performance, knowing there is more to come.
