Liz Hurley’s nephew – who survived horror knife attack – is caught… trending now

Liz Hurley’s model nephew, who survived a horror knife attack, was caught drink-driving by cops who spotted him pulling over cars in his £41,000 BMW, a court heard.

Miles Hurley, 27, sped up and slowed down in a 20mph zone in south London after enjoying drinks with the football team.

The six-foot-tall son of Liz’s older sister Kate Curren has previously walked the Dolce & Gabbana catwalk and was more recently photographed alongside his cousin Damian Hurley at the launch of the Italian brand’s DG Logo Bag cocktail luxury.

Hurley, of Hampton House, Ascalon Street, Nine Elms, appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday under his mother’s married name of Curran.

He pleaded guilty to driving the gray BMW Gran Coupe SE with excess alcohol in his breath in Lambeth on April 14. Hurley had 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath – the legal limit is 35.

Prosecutor Sophie Thompson told the court: “It was around midnight when the officers’ attention became too drawn to a vehicle as the car was speeding up and slowing down and was very close to other vehicles.

“The driver was stopped and alcohol was smelled on this defendant’s breath and he failed the roadside alcohol test and was arrested and taken into custody.

“An aggravating factor is that there was an unacceptable standard of driving in that he was speeding and overtaking other vehicles. Officers said he was driving at an excessive speed.

Hurley’s lawyer, Mark Haslam, contested the charge, however, arguing that his client was traveling at excessive speed.

“This happened just after midnight when there was not much traffic in a 20mph zone so due to the nature of the road it is not possible that the defendant was traveling at a grossly excessive speed,” he said Mr. Haslam.

“The officer simply says ‘at some speed’ without giving an estimate. It is not quite the picture that was painted.

“The defendant accepts that he should not have been driving but when asked to pull over he did so immediately and co-operated fully with the police from the outset.”

Hurley’s lawyer said he was “of good character” and played a game of football before heading for “some drinks” and a meal.
