Jonathan Ross ‘in talks’ to return to BBC 16 years after major scandal

Jonathan Ross is said to be in talks for a potential return to the BBC. The chat show host is reportedly ‘in talks’ with the corporation about a new celebrity series.

Jonathan, who is 63, is known for his previous work at the BBC with his own chat show ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’ and a radio program on BBC Radio 2. However, he left the corporation in 2010 – at two years after the famous Sachsgate Scandal, reports the Mirror.




He is now rumored to be returning to the BBC with Jonathan among those said to be involved in the upcoming celebrity edition of hit reality show The Traitors. The star-studded spin-off has yet to be confirmed by the BBC, but is expected to hit screens next year.

The celebrity version is believed to be in the works after earlier hints from an executive producer at Studio Lambert indicated it was “definitely a possibility”. Speculation has grown ever since.

According to The Sun, Jonathan Ross is currently negotiating his participation in the rumored spin-off. A source said: “Jonathan is the ideal target for The Traitors producers as he is a high-profile celebrity who does not appear regularly on the reality TV circuit. He is also part of a small army of stars who are self-confessed fans of the film. show.”

Jonathan himself recently hinted at a possible reality TV fling. Speaking on the Therapy Crouch podcast, he said: “I still do my (ITV) talk show. That comes back next year. I’m doing Masked Singer again this year. I might do a reality TV thing if I can. it makes all the encounters work, which is a pretty fun thing.”

However, Jonathan has made it clear that he will not be taking part in ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here! Speaking previously, Jonathan played down a return to the BBC. Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “I have no problem with the BBC, but I have no intention of going back there to host shows.”
