Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has given his final verdict on Dejphon Chansiri

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has shared his thoughts on owner Dejphon Chansiri.

Sheffield Wednesday are turning heads in the Championship and the English Football League after a positive start to the summer transfer window.

Danny Rohl has already welcomed eight new players into his Sheffield Wednesday first-team squad and a ninth is expected soon, with Nathaniel Chalobah set to join on a free transfer.

More signings are still expected and Sheffield Wednesday are likely to target more loan signings as the summer transfer window heads into its final stages.

And amid the flurry of new signings, controversial Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri is earning plaudits.

Chansiri was welcomed by Sheffield Wednesday fans following Rohl’s new contract and the subsequent influx of new players, with improvements also being made to some of the club’s facilities.

It comes after a difficult season for Chansiri, who was the subject of major criticism from Sheffield Wednesday fans in the last round, with fan group The 1867 Group organizing several protests against the property.

Danny Rohl gives his verdict on Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri

Now Rohl has also given his thoughts on Chansiri after a strong start to the summer transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday players are currently at St George’s Park for part of their pre-season training plans.

During training camp, Rohl spoke to The Star, giving his verdict on the club’s summer transfer dealings so far and Chansiri.

Rohl said: “It’s so important that everyone is here and that we had pre-season together.

“It was a topic in the summer when I met the president, and I think he’s doing a good job.

“He helps close deals, which is always important, and I have his support.”

Another man deserves praise at Sheffield Wednesday

Chansiri is certainly worthy of what is rarely praise at Sheffield Wednesday, with the club certainly having a corner this summer.

And while credit also goes to Rohl, without whom this turnaround would never have been possible, there should also be credit for head of recruiting Kevin Beadell.

Rohl also discussed Beadell’s work this summer in the interview above, citing the “good work” he’s doing.

Beadell was appointed by Chansiri late last year in what is proving to be another good appointment.

With Beadell in place, Sheffield Wednesday have a lot more infrastructure in place rather than Chansiri doing all the trouble.

Finally, it seems the Owls owner is handing power over football matters to those with experience in the matter, and Sheffield Wednesday are quickly reaping the rewards.
