The mother-of-two is facing backlash from trolls after posting a candid video of her messy home

A mum has been branded ‘lazy’ after posting a video of her untidy home strewn with laundry and toys. Thirty-year-old Laura Green uploaded a video of her home in Leicester to TikTok to reassure parents that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time.

Laura wanted to illustrate that “it’s good to take a break and tidy up later” – especially with the hustle and bustle of the summer holidays approaching. The mother of two young children decided to share her personal experience, which involved going downstairs and putting her son to bed only to discover a unkempt house.

Before she started cleaning, she opted to take a few minutes to herself. And she sent a message to reassure other parents that it’s okay to do the same.

However, her actions were met with disapproval online. She’s been labeled a ‘messy young mum’ – even though she’s in her 30s. Some critics have gone so far as to say that she should “not be allowed on the planet” if she is found unable to perform “women’s work”.

Some viewers accused her of deliberately tilting the camera to show off her cleavage during the video. Laura, who previously held a senior consultant position at an optician before having her one-year-old and four-year-old children, dismissed the negative comments with humour.

In her own words: “Mostly the comments made me laugh – especially the ones about my cleavage. I have this on my page quite a bit. It says more about them than it does about me.

“It’s obvious that I show the mess. The “lazy and terrible young mother” comments were pretty funny too.

“People seem to think I’m 19 and I had my kids by accident – actually I’m 30 and they were a choice. Negative comments don’t bother me – they’re just people looking for likes.
