Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night offers the park’s summer scenes – Inside Croydon

Summer treatment: part of the cast for CODA’s Twelfth nightbeing staged in Wandle Park

Twelfth night is this summer’s production at the Bandstand in Wandle Park, marking 10 years of outdoor theater in the park by CODA, The Croydon Operatic and Dramatic Association.

Shakespeare’s comedy about disguise and hidden love runs from July 31 to August 3 and is the ideal treat for a summer’s evening – with seating guaranteed and refreshments available.

To celebrate 10 years in the park, CODA is offering all tickets for the opening night show for £10, the same price as 2014.

The production is directed by CODA President Michael Hall and stars Megan Claridge as Viola, Ella McFadden as Olivia, Jamie Lumsden as Orsino, Joshua Mallalieu as Malvolio, Jasmine Stock as Feste, Simon Church as Sir Toby Belch and Rhys Davies-Santibanez as Sebastian. .

“We are so excited to present such a funny yet heartfelt play that takes you to Illyria,” said Hall.

“It features some of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters and lines, all performed in the beautiful surroundings of the park as the sun sets. Let’s hope the rain doesn’t “rain every day”.

“CODA strives to make theater as accessible as possible in the neighborhood. We are aware that the cost of tickets for even community theater can put off those who are struggling financially at the moment, even as we ourselves face rising production costs.

“We are particularly pleased to be able to offer tickets at the same price as 10 years ago for our opening show.”

Suitable for all ages, Twelfth night runs from Wednesday 31 July to Saturday 3 August at the Bandstand at Wandle Park, Croydon, with evening performances at 7.30pm and a matinee on 3 August at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children (with all tickets for the Wednesday night show £10) and can be booked online at www.codashows.co.uk or by emailing [email protected] .
