Coventry woman wins thousands betting on football

A COVENTRY woman has won £250,000 thanks to Jude Bellingham’s overhead kick in the Euros against Slovakia.

Joanne Gordon, from Coventry, has become the first jackpot winner for ITV Picks, a free-to-play competition where players must answer seven questions correctly about a European Championship match, including the first scorer, at half-time and right at half-time . Score.

Joanne’s predictions included picking the exact minute the first goal would be scored – the 25th.

She said: “I don’t really know how to put it into words, it’s extremely surreal.

“You hear about people making huge amounts of money and you think, ‘good for them’, you know, I’ll try to make a living and you never think it could happen.

“And my husband plays, he is passionate about football in my house with my son.

“He’s quite scientific about it, he makes notes about their performance and then he says, ‘OK, Jo, what’s your choice?’ and I say, “Oh, whatever, the 25th minute will be fine.”

Joanne’s full picks were: Half time score – England 0-1 Slovakia, Final score – England 1-1 Slovakia, First scorer – Ivan Schranz, First caution – Marc Guehi, Number of corners – 9, Penalty yes/no? – No, the minute of the first goal – the 25th.
