Heartbroken parents pay tribute to Huddersfield boy Chad Matheson killed in pub crash

Tributes have poured in for a young man who tragically died after a car crashed into a pub in Shepley.

Chad Matheson, 21, from Huddersfield died on Friday after the black Mercedes A180 he was driving hit The Sovereign pub in Penistone Road at 9.30pm on Saturday July 6.




Today, Chad’s mum and dad paid a touching tribute to their ‘loving and caring’ son. Via West Yorkshire Police they said: “Our cad had a heart of gold. His family and friends were everything to him. He was so loving, caring and honest, but a little crazy, and that made him unique.

“Our family is devastated by his death; yet we remain strong and his memories keep us going.”

West Yorkshire Police detectives are still investigating the crash, with inquiries now being carried out by the Major Collision Investigation Team.
