Police release major update on casualties after more human remains found

The Metropolitan Police believe human remains found in a west London flat are linked to body parts found hidden in two suitcases in Bristol. A 34-year-old suspect was apprehended at Temple Meads Station, Bristol, by Avon and Somerset armed officers in the early hours of Saturday.

Police discovered more human remains in a flat in Shepherd’s Bush on Friday (July 11), after earlier finding two suitcases with human remains inside near Bristol’s Clifton Suspension Bridge. In a published statement, the Met announced: “Officers believe the remains are linked to human remains found in Bristol and that there are two further male victims.



Officers believe they know the identities of the two men, although formal identification has yet to take place. Appeals continue to locate and inform their next of kin. It is believed that both victims were known to the suspect.”

Police are still searching the London flat. The Met’s Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine further assured that officers would maintain a presence in the area and urged the public to share any information that could help investigators.

He also said: “I would like to thank the public for their support. We understand the concerns of the local communities in both Bristol and London and officers will remain in the Clifton and Shepherd’s Bush areas over the coming days to reassure those affected by this tragedy. incident. Anyone with any concerns is encouraged to speak to them.”
