Swindon man arrested after four taken to hospital amid pub disturbance

Four people were taken to hospital following a “significant disturbance” in a pub showing the Euro semi-final.

Police arrested four men suspected of violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.

The incident happened at 10.25pm ​​BST on Wednesday at the Steam Railway Pub, Swindon. Officers have now issued a warning to fans ahead of Sunday’s final.

Inspector David Tippetts said: “This level of violence is completely unacceptable, especially when so many people are trying to enjoy what should have been a good event.”
