As part of the warning, Superdry has issued a series of advice. The first is to always store your clothes properly to maintain their shape and condition. For example, knitwear should be folded and stored on a shelf instead of hanging to prevent stretching.

Another key thing to remember when storing your clothes is to make sure you use hangers designed to properly support the weight and shape of each garment. Using a cheaper wire hanger for your expensive blazer will ruin its shape. Instead, you should consider investing in a proper jacket hanger that will keep the correct shape.

Let’s not forget to always use the hanging loops you find inside your clothes. They were added for a reason to help keep the garments in the correct position when on the hanger, supporting the weight and preventing the fabrics from stretching and warping. On sites like Amazon you can find different types of hangers suitable for your clothes.

Deborah Painting, Head of Quality and Technical at Superdry, said: “The focus on sustainability in the fashion industry has grown significantly in recent years, reflecting a wider concern for personal impact on the environment. This simple tip highlights a way to preserve your favorite clothing items. in good condition for longer, minimizing the need for replacements.”
